This is the latest setback for a Green Bay team off to a hot start following the preseason acquisition of Micah Parsons. The Packers lost starting receiver Jayden Reed to a broken collarbone suffered last Thursday night; the third-year pass catcher is slated to miss up to eight games.
Kraft is coming off a career game in Week 2. The third-year tight end caught six passes for 124 yards and an 8-yard touchdown in prime time against the Washington Commanders. Entering Week 3, Kraft is Green Bay’s leading receiver in catches (8), yards (140) and receiving touchdowns (4).
In Kraft’s absence — the length of which remains to be determined — Green Bay can be expected to lean on Luke Musgrave at tight end and its deep bench of receivers. Musgrave has three receptions on 36 yards through two weeks. The only other TE to record a reception is John FitzPatrick (one catch, 2 yards). The Packers also employ Ben Sims at the position.
Green Bay (2-0) will face the Browns (0-2) in Cleveland on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
